Loren's Pick: Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City, Bobby Bland
Rainy day in NYC and this song just grabs the mood. This is the most uplifting, sad song. Its a friend on hard days. Embarrassingly I first knew it from the David Coverdale cover (which I still think is solid). But nothing like Bobby's voice speaking the truth. These two songs brought us down a path of listening to Miles' last album Doo-Bop and then this amazing mash-up of Miles and LCD Sound Machine.

Christina's pick: weekend cleaning vibe - couldn't get tickets to Ty Segall's show this one night in Montreal / was waiting for the bus kinda bummed when these cool ass punk chicks came up with a sharpie and faked the venue's stamp on my wrist to get me in. became super good friends with some of them after. Those girls later formed the fem maggots, whose video I have posted underneath and will count as my Saturday jam !
